Ayurveda is an ancient health care traditions that have been practiced in India for about 5,000 years. The word Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit, its meaning is Ayur (life) Veda (knowledge). Ayurveda has evolved over the years and fortunately, has extended to other countries and continents.

I say fortunately because Ayurveda is much more than a medical system. It is a tradition and a way of living based on a whole holistic state of health including our body, mind, and spirit. Practices like yoga are now integrated with Ayurveda.

According to Ayurveda, circumstances such as stress, an unhealthy diet, difficult relationships, not moving our body and getting enough sleep, influence the balance of our energy centers; and an unbalanced individual is more susceptible to diseases.
